Our dahlia cuttings are guaranteed virus-free and true to type, and we take that commitment seriously. The farm where these cuttings are produced is meticulously clean, and all propagation material is thoroughly tested to ensure no hidden viruses. Keep in mind, though, if you have virus-infected tubers, the virus can easily spread to your healthy plants, so be sure to research ways to prevent accidental transmission.

Now, let’s talk about Café Au Lait. It’s been around since 1968 but has seen a surge in popularity in recent years as a stunning, though sometimes temperamental, cut flower. That signature creamy color is unmatched! However, this variety can be unpredictable and might surprise you with pink blooms on occasion. Virus-free Café Au Lait plants tend to give more consistent cream-colored flowers, though.

A Quick Note on Café Au Lait

Café Au Lait is a classic variety from the 60s, known for its unstable color and shape. Honestly, it’s a bit of a diva, but we can’t resist growing it! When stressed, it tends to produce fewer petals, especially as the days shorten in autumn. Don’t be alarmed if you see single flowers—it’s typical for C.A.L. To get the best blooms, make sure your dahlia plugs are well-fed and watered after planting. They need more care than tuber-grown dahlias since they don’t have the stored energy that tubers provide. With a little extra love, they’ll bloom beautifully!

Your kit will come in a cell tray that's already hardened off, meaning no extra care is needed and they are ready to be planted straight into your garden. We grow these plants from seeds/cuttings, if there are any issues with production we reserve the right to substitute varieties as needed.

We are unable to offer refunds once you've placed your order. We spend months growing these plants and your kit is reserved specifically for you. As a result we can not offer any refunds if you are unable to pick up your kit for any reason.

Once again, please note that shipping or delivery is NOT AVAILABLE for these kits. You will need to pick them up at Bountiful Blooms Farm.
